In Connecticut Play4, you can choose between a variety of wager types. The way you play determines everything else in Pick 4 - how much you can win, your odds of success, and even the cost for Combo plays.
Refer to the How to Play page for all the different steps you need to follow to fill in a playslip, or check out descriptions for each wager type below.
This is the wager type with the lowest odds but the biggest payout. You have to match the winning numbers in exact order - achieve this and you'll get 5,000 times your play amount.
Predict the four numbers that you think will be drawn. As long as they are all selected, you win! The order doesn't matter, so a wager of 0099 would be a winner even if 9900 was drawn.
Split your wager between a Straight and a Box. You win both parts of the wager if your numbers are drawn in order, or just the Box prize if they appear in different positions.
Every combination of your selected numbers is entered as a separate Straight wager. This gives you the same odds as a Box but the same prize as a Straight, but you have to pay for every combination.
You can choose just two numbers instead of four. To win, you need to match both digits in the correct position. Play a Front Pair (first two numbers), Back Pair (last two) or Split Pair (first and last).
Selecting your wager type is an important part of Pick 4. Another factor that determines odds and prizes - for Box and Straight/Box wagers - is how many of your numbers are the same as each other. The configuration of your numbers creates four, six, 12 or 24 ways to win. Each one is described in the table below, accompanied by examples.
For Combo bets, the number of ways you play dictates the cost of your wager. Use the 'Winning Combinations' tool to enter any four digits and wager type. It will then generate the combinations that would give you a win for those conditions.
